ishStudio is a woman-owned home studio focusing on slip casted and slap ceramics.

In Spring of 2017, my husband Dave and I converted a 2-car garage and attached storage room into a studio where I could perfect my talent in creating ceramic. My ceramic includes earthenware and stoneware. Earthenware fires at temperatures between 1479F and 2109F (804-1154C), while stoneware fires at mid to high temperatures 2010-2370F (1100-1300C). Most of my ceramic are made with stoneware clay. For items such as piggy banks, clocks, and animal figurines I use low fire white clay.

Glazes used are from Amaco, Spectrum, and Coyote Glazes that are fully compliant with California Prop 65. This means my all my tableware is microwave-safe, oven-safe, and dishwasher safe.

I am an avid participant in arts and crafts festivals in New Mexico. The festivals give me a chance to meet people and communicate with members of the their communities. Art festivals are great social gatherings and have had a big impact on my personal life and have inspired me to become more creative with my ceramic art.

My work has been displayed and sold at juried events such as the Santa Fe Annual 4th of July Pancakes on the Plaza, Los Alamos Arts Council Arts Festival, Chama Valley Arts Festival, Truth or Consequences and other non-juried smaller shows. My plan for 2024 is to participate in shows outside my home state of New Mexico.
